A reflection from writer’s circle group for Experimentica

By artist Jo Fong

Sunday. I spent most of the day in the garden. Putting my hands in the soil. How to ritual? When there is no room for ritual If I needed to pray where would I go Not that I pray, but if I really needed to And then it rained. I have stopped going to family funerals, they're too performed but today I took a moment for my grandparents. I don’t like to look back. I had some lilies in my old back garden. I brought one of the plants to my new house, it died. Peace lilies or are they Frida Kahlo lilies, the lillies that mean someone has just died lilies or just lilies? The person who owns my old garden will be splitting their lilies and will give me one on Monday. How to prepare for an ending? To hum a song before you lay to rest is no bad idea Thank you Farah
